THE SILENT CRY – REGISTERED CHARITY 1132986
The Silent Cry was set up in 2008 in order to help people with depression and self harm issues.
It was found that after an initial visit to a GP with depression or self harm issues, patients were prescribed medication and, without an explanation or diagnosis, were left in a wilderness.
The aims of The Silent Cry are (along with other agencies) to help those people who really need the help - since receiving treatment/counselling often takes far too long, is too infrequent and is very expensive privately.
Once referrals are made, The Silent Cry aims to be there and offer services (often on the same day). Integration with GP surgeries will be made and - if manageable - an on-site practitioner or co-ordinator will be available for seeing those people who need it.
This is an opportunity to belong to the organisation that will change people’s lives, or even save them.
