Here you can find out more about what counselling is all about: directly from clients discussing their experiences and from counsellors talking about how they see their work.
There are many different types of counselling based on many different counselling theories - which can seem very confusing if you’re new to it all. The field of counselling, like life itself, isn’t “neat and tidy”. Nevertheless, many, many people have found counselling to be of real and lasting value. Because we’re all different, however, even a great counsellor for one person isn’t necessarily that good for someone else.
To really benefit from counselling it helps if you’re able to choose the right counsellor for your needs and, once you’ve started counselling, it helps if you know a bit about the nature of the counselling process. With Find a Counsellor you can develop your understanding and then, hopefully, benefit more fully from your counselling experience.
